BE A LIGHT IN A DARK WORLD

In a world filled with so much hate, it's easy for someone to lose his or her way. In the dark, we grope, searching for something to hold onto. Yet, we still fall. If only there was a light...

Be Mighty and Make a Difference!

If you've read Choice of the Mighty you know that one of the theme's of Stephen's story is that you don't have to have extraordinary abilities (like mind-reading or super-strength) to make a difference. Often, people look at a situation that they know can be improved and end up doing nothing because they feel their effort wouldn't be good enough. Let me tell you, what you do matters!

Over the years, my wife and I have supported with time and/or money many different causes that we believe in. We've organized and coordinated creek cleanups. We've headed up a new youth ministry. We've supported our church in any way that we can. And, we've also volunteered with many different non-profit agencies around our community. It's something we believe in.

Another worthy cause we are passionate about is supporting children outside our community. Specifically, we support two children in Rwanda. We don't just give them money each month, but we also send letters of encouragement and pictures of our family. We want them to know that they are not alone and that people on the other side of the world care about them, just as God does.

So, I'm inviting you to make a difference – to be Mighty! It doesn't have to be a grand gesture. In your family, or community, or across the world, simply take action.

If you'd like to bring hope and support to a child in another country, please visit Compassion International. If, instead, your heart is closer to home, please look for ways you can make a difference in your community. Either way, let us know. We want to hear from you with your personal stories of what you do to make a difference.

About the Author

Kenyon is the author of the Young Adult, Urban Fantasy series, "Chronicles of Stephen." At a young age, Kenyon's interest in writing was apparent, having won a writing school competition. His first book, "Big Foot Indian" brought much acclaim by his third grade teacher and was featured in the local paper. Years later, Kenyon continued to enjoy the writing process. For fun, he would write poems and short stories for his own enjoyment. One such short story, "Blinded by the Darkness," is where his vision of becoming a published novelist began. In a supernatural frenzy, Kenyon devoured books and wisdom from other authors and editors to learn what makes a good novel. A short ten years later the first book, "Choice of the Mighty," was published. One year after that, "Trials of the Mighty" was published. Eight months later, "Redemption of the Mighty" was available. Now, all three titles will soon be available through Jumpmaster Pressâ„¢, and Kenyon can't stop writing. Having served as a youth ministry leader for 5 years, Kenyon saw first hand that young adult media was not always the uplifting, encouraging, and inspirational material it ought to be. His goal is to write good stories that anyone can enjoy and that also paint a very realistic picture of people and life (except for the supernatural abilities part. He made that up!) Now, Kenyon is working on many different projects. One such project continues to be Next Chapter Convention & Xpo. As founder of the Next Chapter, his goal is to connect readers with stories from many different genres and introduce you to your next favorite author.
